The “Silence is Complicity” civil society platform, co-founded by businessman Hayrettin Özaydın, is calling on the international community to take action against the ongoing civilian massacres and human rights violations in Palestine. The platform emphasizes that remaining silent in the face of oppression, anywhere in the world, means complicity in the crime.

Özaydın states that the movement has no political or religious affiliations and is founded entirely on a humanitarian and conscientious basis. The platform’s most important call is for January 29th to be declared “Palestinian Genocide Remembrance Day.” This date was symbolically chosen to commemorate the tragic memory of 6-year-old Hind Rajab, who was killed along with her family by more than 300 bullets.

Through this remembrance day, the “Silence is Complicity” platform aims to ensure that what happened is not forgotten, that the attacks are stopped immediately, and that those responsible are brought to justice in international courts. Özaydın stated that the scope of the movement is not limited to Palestine alone, but also includes a humanitarian response to other regions experiencing oppression, such as Ukraine and Sudan, and invited all people to support this conscientious outcry through social media.
